The Modules

Job Search covers many steps and tasks. You may be comfortable in some areas and thus not need a full programme. So read through these different modules and choose the ones you need.

What you get:

  • A downloadable eBook for you to read online:  You then only need to print out the pages you need.
  • A phone seminar or podcast where the material is brought to life. With the live seminar you can listen to the key points, have a chance to ask questions and listen to what others have to say. You call a central number and it will cost between 2p and 5p per minute using the low call service. Don’t worry if you miss it, all calls are recorded for later access.

Getting Ready (module 1)

This module gets you ready for job search.  You will need to be organised and be mentally prepared.  This module gets the basics in place.

You have got to be organised, to simplify your job search.  How will you keep track of your application and focus on the tasks without a system.  That’s why I created this module.  I'm highly organised and love creating forms. I've spoken to far too many people who lose track of which version of their CV is uploaded where, and fail to follow up on a potential lead.  Read more >>

What do I want to do (module 2)

You are likely to want a job quickly, but what job?  You could seek a job similar to what you have done, or you could take time to consider other options.

Most people choose a job on the basis of their career history, and this often means they seek a similar job to what they have done before. Fine if you like your job, but if you don't you need to decide what you do want to do.  Looking at job search sites can lead to confusion.  So many jobs, how do you choose?  Read more >>

Research – Finding out about jobs (module 3)

Networking (module 5)

This eBook is all about using personal contacts to support you in your job search.

Looking for a job can be frustrating, time consuming and disappointing.  What makes matters worse is looking alone.  Left to your own devices, you can easily lose your momentum, convince yourself that there are no jobs, and worse, give up!  What will help is to involve as many people as you know in your job search.  Unbelievably your next job could come from someone you know. This is why networking is so vital to your success.  Read more >>

Traditional Job Search (module 6)

Applying for jobs you see advertised is the most common method people use to find a job.  People get it wrong as they have never been shown the system, it’s much easier once you know how to decode the ads.

There is a structured way to respond to job ads, and it’s easy once you know what to do.  Too many people think that they can use a similar application to all companies when you need to specifically focus on what’s included in the job ad. If you follow the steps in this module your application form will be much clearer and a greater chance of success.  Read more >>

Accessing the Hidden Job Market (module 7)

70-80% of jobs are never advertised.  You need to find out how to tap into this hidden job market.

More people find a job through the hidden route than through applying to advertisements. It can appear a mysterious secret, but I can show you exactly what you need to do. There are different ways to get a job.  You can be reactive or proactive.  The reactive approach is to respond to job advertisements.  This module will help you to understand why you should undertake a proactive approach to job hunting, begin to identify companies and know how to make speculative enquiries to potential employers, agencies and consultants. You'll learn to sidestep the gate keeper to talk with the relevant person. What more could you want?  Read more >>
